Thermally efficient and environmentally tuned-in design assists in providing energy efficient, environmentally aware and comfortable houses - addressing energy poverty and comfortable housing for low income householders
![]() As our climate changes, people in homes not suitable for extreme climate events are becoming more vulnerable, physically, emotionally and financially.
Here at Footprint Energy, we have specific background, training and understanding to reduce the impact from these climatic conditions on our most vulnerable citizens. We were involved with the very first program in Australia almost 10 years ago which assisted vulnerable households to access funding and implement practical solutions for improving their lifestyles from the extreme temperatures. Now the sharing of these practical solutions are even more important today as they have ever been, with extreme hot and cold days becoming the norm. We offer practical, effective and low cost solutions for householders to implement with ease, so improvements are felt promptly and with little fuss. Governments the world over are addressing how we look after those with less means in our society, to deal with these changes, in both extreme hot and cold climates. We work with NGOs, private industry and Governments to roll out programs which assist low income households to access the benefits of these solutions. Our team have undertaken home energy assessments on over 500 homes, across Australia for a wide range of housing types, with an emphasis on low income households. We believe that energy efficiency, behavioural change and compassion are key elements of climate change adaptation and energy poverty. |
